Work
Work Growing up adults often ask children, What do you want to be when you grow up? Depending on my mood, my answer as a child was usually something along the lines of a ballerina or an astronaut. As I grew up, though, my mind began to change as did the question. It had turned into; What are you going to study while in school? I was unsure of my answer to that question. I began to look at the things in my life I enjoyed most. The things I discovered about myself led me to my interest of study for the future. In seventh grade my interest in business was sparked. My social studies class studied the different aspects of business. We were each assigned a stock and company to follow for a month. It was our responsibility to monitor the company’s growth and be able to report it to the class. The teacher gave us different problems the company may encounter and it was our job to figure out how to deal with them in order to keep up the well being of the business. As the final project, we took a trip to the New York Stock Exchange to see what really goes on on the trading floor. The whole thing amazed me and it was at that point I knew that this was what interested me. Another part of my decision to enter into a business field is my current job. I am an Assistant Manager of a market in my town. I oversee the front end and deal within the customer service office. I started at the job as a cashier but I had always more interested with the dealings of the office. I was promoted to my present standing last year. I enjoy the responsibility of the job greatly. I like how my thoughts are taken into account, and that I what I do does make a difference within the office. My experience there has helped me to shape my decision of what I want to do when graduate from college. Bibliography:
