As one can easily see these two architects were two of the most influential and famous architects of the post modern design age. The funniest thing about it is that a lot of other architects and most post modern design books classify them as post modernists, but they do not. They do not think their work can be classified because they use many different styles.Next there is a couple of buildings that most people of today have seen or at least heard of that are post modern. One would be the Paul Getty Museum in California and the other is the AT&T building in New York.The Paul Getty Museum by Architect Richard Meier he tailored each building to specific needs while also creating a harmonious whole. Richard chose this particular design so that the museum would have a peace full harmonious feeling about it. The Getty Center is surrounded the city but yet set apart so that it both invokes urbanity and peaceful contemplation. The campus on which it lies is 110 acres and also has a panoramic view of the ocean, mountains, and the city. Richly textured travertine stone lies at the foot of the walls and the buildings giving it a sense of being permanent. A broad staircase leads you to the Museum and a view of the entire Ghetty Center. Walkways and balconies give you viewsof the city, then of an inner courtyard with trees, fountains, and reflecting pools.The AT&T building is another example of post modern design.
