Adolf Hitler3
Adolf Hitler3 When most people think of Adolf Hitler, they think of a cruel person who killed many innocent Jews. The majority of people do not think of Hitler as the type of guy who would write plays and librettos for operas. Let alone do they think of him as the type of person who loved to read Westerns and play cowboys and Indians as a kid. Was Adolf Hitler a bad leader? Was there a side of Adolf Hitler that the world did not see? Hitler’s life impacted the world in many ways, in his rise to power, the way he controlled others, First, Hitler’s rise to power was extravagant in the way that people did not even recognize the spell that Adolf Hitler was putting them under. To help Hitler out with his rise, the stock market in the United States crashed. This affected Germany greatly since it was dependent on foreign trade. “The Great Depression began and they were cast into poverty and deep misery and began looking for a solution, any solution. Adolf Hitler knew his opportunity had arrived” (The History Place Online, The Great Depression The majority of people affected by the Great Depression was the Middle Class of Germany. The standard living of the middle class was ruined over night. German people were tired of politics in Germany. They were looking for a solution to get out of poverty. Hitler introduced new ideas to the public that they had never heard before. He had great speaking abilities and would tell the people exactly what they wanted to hear. “Hitler spoke to scores of mass audiences, call for German people to resist the yoke of Jews and Communists, and to create a new empire which would rule the world for 1,000 years” (Gary M. Grobman, online, remember.com 5). Hitler also promised to help the Jews with finances, and security to the workers of Germany. His popularity was now growing at an incredible pace. What the people of Germany did not recognize was that Hitler was putting up a front so that more people would like him and therefore vote for him. Hitler’s real plan was to start eliminating the Jews secretly before leaking out the truth to the Secondly, once Hitler had gained complete power, he began to control others. He was no longer the nice guy that the German people made him out to be. He used brutality to get what he wanted. This was displayed in the way that he exterminated the Jews. Hitler could once be quoted saying “Then the Jews will be hanged indiscriminately, and they will remain hanging until they stink; they will hang there as long as the principles of hygiene permit. As soon as they have been untied, the next batch will be strung up, and so on down the line until the last Jew in Munich has been exterminated. Other cites will follow suit, and precisely in this fashion, until all Germany has been completely cleansed of Jews” (Ken McVay, online, nizkor 1). Hitler believed in a “master” race, and would exterminate the Jews because he felt like the Jews did not fit in, or were not a part of his “master” race. It was not enough for Hitler to kill the Jews, he would also embarrass them. Hitler would humiliate the Jews and kill them in public often times in front of the victim’s friends or family. Hitler would also call the Jews names that would degrade them such as the “Inferior Race”. And say the Jews “multiply like vermin.” Not only did Hitler control and humiliate the Jews, he did the same to his military service. His military was often not aware what was going on with the Jews and the Holocaust. His forces were so terrified of Hitler that they would obey his command no matter what it was. A lieutenant, also one of Hitler’s close friends, once said, “If he did not deceive us by deliberate lies, then he did it by keeping us in the dark and letting us fight under false impression!” (Toland 896). Hitler wanted to keep his real plan of exterminating the Jews away from the public and also away from his own military. But Hitler knew that eventually his play would be exposed. However Hitler felt that the Jews would be totally defenseless by that point. Hitler was once heard saying, “Once the hatred and the battle against the Jews have been really stirred up, their resistance will necessarily crumble I in the shortest possible time. They are totally defenseless, and no one will stand up to protect them” (Ken McVay, online, nizkor.com). Hitler knew once the public found out about his real plan that there would be nothing they could do to help the Jews because he would already have complete power over everybody. The Jews were now exactly where Hitler wanted them, nothing or no one could help them. Thirdly, Adolf Hitler was fully aware that his popularity was decreasing and that his downfall had now come. What lead him to this conclusions was the fact that his own lieutenants were beginning to plot against him. They would defy his orders and many times high officials attempted to kill him. Hitler escaped all of their attempts and the lieutenants would then be executed for their bad behavior. Adolf Hitler once said, “I will not fall into the hands of the enemy dead or alive” ( Toland 886). By this quote Hitler meant he will not be capured by his enemies whether he be dead or alive. This did not happen to Hitler, instead Hitler and his wife took the cowardly route to death. On May 4, 1945 Hitler shot himself after his wife (Eva) had poisoned herself. Hitler knew that the war seemed to be inevitably lost and he did not want to be made a fool of or feel like a Hitler left Germany in a complete mess. People were lost and confused as of where they should go, or who they should turn to. The government and politics were a complete disaster. Adolf Hitler had total control for so long that there seemed to be no one who was strong enough to step up and take his place. Also following Hitler’s death there were many trials. These trials were called the Nurnburg Trials Lieutenants were being tried on murder and many other acquisitions. Of the twenty-two major defendants, only three were acquitted. Eight received long terms of imprisonment, and the rest were sentenced to death (Toland 896). Hitler’s military would be affected for the rest of their lives for the actions that they made. They will never forget all the Jews they killed, or the In conclusion, through Adolf Hitler’s rise of power, his controlling of others, and his fall to power Hitler accomplished many things that would impact the world for years. He killed and harmed many innocent Jews, and controlled his government with great force. He deliberately lied to the German public so they would vote for him. So was Adolph Hitler a good leader? He got people to follow his lead and do what he wanted them to. He almost exterminated the whole Jewish race. Adolph Hitler was a strong and powerful leader. It was to our disadvantage that he did not use his leadership skills for a good cause. Instead he used it to kill an and manipulate people. In conclusions, Adolf Hitler was a strong leader. He was able to control people in a way that no other leader has been able to. The only problem is that Hitler used his power for the wrong purpose. He affected the lives of many people, and not just the Jews but the Germany Bibliography: Grobman, Gary M. “Adolf Hitler.” [Online] Copywrite 1990 The History Place. “The Rise of Hitler: Great Depression Begins.” [Online} Copyrwrite 1998 McVay, Ken. “The Nizkor Project.” [Online] 27 February 1996 Toland, John.
