Baptism is one of the major Protestant religions in Mexico. Baptists accept the basic tenets of the 16th century Reformation. They are important for their emphasis on a lot of other beliefs. They make up two-fifths of the Protestant population. Baptists originated in the early 17th century in Holland and England. They believe in a church composed only of regenerated individuals or persons who have had a personal experience of the Christian religion. The Baptist emphasis on believer’s baptism. Lutheranism originated as a 16th century movement led by Martin Luther. It developed in a number of separate national and territorial churches. Luther also developed the term Lutheran. As a result of the missionary movement of the 18th and 19th centuries, Lutheranism has become a worldwide communion of Christians and the largest Protestant denomination in the world. It has about 80 million members. Lutheranism affirms the ultimate authority of the Word of God. For Lutherans, salvation doesn’t depend on worthiness but they believe it is a gift of God’s grace. Nineteen-eighty through nineteen-ninety the population increased by twenty-two percent. In nineteen-eighty Mexico had sixty-six million, eight hundred and forty-seven people. In nineteen-ninety Mexico had eighty-one million, two hundred and fifty people. In numbers the population increased by one hundred and forty-four million, thirty thousand people. Sixty-six million, eight hundred and forty-seven is the original amount. Eighty-one million, two hundred and fifty is the amount of increase. The first step to the formula for the percent of increase is to subtract eighty-one million, two hundred and fifty from sixty-six million, eight hundred and forty-seven. Then you get one hundred and forty-four million, thirty thousand. Then you divide one hundred and forty-four million, thirty thousand by eighty-one million, two hundred and fifty. You get twenty-two hundredths. Next you move the decimal two places to the right and you get your percent of increase, twenty-two percent. There is one major language spoken in Mexico. The major language spoken is Mexican or Spanish. One hundred percent of the people that live there speak that. There are three religions in Mexico. Eighty-nine percent of the people are Catholic. Six percent of the people that live there are Protestant. The other two percent is made up of the group other. I chose one piece of clothing to work with. The piece of clothing was khakis. In America a pair of khakis is twenty-five dollars. In Mexico a pair of khakis are two hundred thirty and seventy-five pesos. Since one US American dollar equals nine and twenty-three pesos I multiplied twenty-five dollars and nine and twenty-three pesos. I got two hundred thirty and twenty-five pesos. The season I chose to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit was summer. In the summer the temperature in Celsius was twenty-two degrees Celsius. In Fahrenheit it is seventy-four degrees Fahrenheit. The formula to change Celsius to Fahrenheit goes like this. The first step is to multiply nine-fifths times twenty-two plus thirty-two. Then you get seventy-four degrees Fahrenheit. The formula to change Fahrenheit to Celsius goes like this. The first step is to subtract seventy-four from thirty-two then multiply that from five-ninths. You get twenty-two degrees Celsius. The month I chose to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit was May. In May the temperature in Celsius was twenty-six degrees Celsius. In Fahrenheit it is seventy-six degrees Fahrenheit. The formula to change Celsius to Fahrenheit, again, goes like this. The first step is to multiply nine-fifths times twenty-six plus thirty-two. Then you get seventy-six degrees Fahrenheit. The formula to change Fahrenheit to Celsius, again, goes like this. The first step is to subtract seventy-six from thirty-two then multiply that from five-ninths. You get twenty-six degrees Celsius.
