nd encouraged them when they were down. Sammy was the bright eye character in the story, he was the youngest boy, and he had his own sense of humor, even when the times were getting hard. Than it was May Beth, she was the youngest child in the story and her character was portrayed as a quiet, timid girl, that was very homely, and was not experienced with the world that was around her.The writing style of this book grabs your interest and holds you spellbound as it draws you into the midst of these abandoned youth. This book is like an adventure that leaves you eager to know what will take place. The reader laughs and cries with Dicey and her younger siblings. The way in which Cynthia Voight wrote the book makes you get in dept of what some teens or children actually have to face everyday. The writing style is realistic, and it seems that it actually happened. ...
