Usually, ergonomically designing a computer workstation would result in high costs. This is essential for the safety of computer terminal employees. There exist a number of precautions that can be taken into consideration when dealing with a computer workstation. “The findings of ergonomists are helpful when setting up a home office. But regardless of the furnishings, experts agree that you have to meet them halfway. Yes, your mother was right – Sit up straight and take breaks! Even though a business can spend up to thousands of dollars on ergonomical furniture and computer equipment, it is up to the employee to also take measures in preventing CTD’s.There are many simple methods for preventing CTDs. “Take a one-minute break every 20 minutes, or at least a five-minute break every hour; Pay attention to the ergonomics of your workstation; Your palms should be parallel to your keyboard; Your forearms should be horizontal; Your wrists should be flat and level while typing; Correct typing technique and posture, the right equipment setup, and good work habits; Don’t pound on the keys; Hold the mouse lightly; Keep your arms and hands warm; Consider voice recognition; Evaluate other activities such as sports, carrying children, hobbies requiring intense small work (like knitting) and excess effort/tension in other daily activities may have enormous impact too.” These simple methods could prevent one of the many different syndromes.The desk that anyone sits at should be at a certain height. “As a general starting point, the surface used for writing and other p...
