Date & Place_________ ________________________ September 21, 2000_______ Harrison Motors Company__ Directs activities of workers in engineering department of petroleum company and advises management on engineering problems. 5.1 Apportions work among engineering staff according to specialized training. 5.2 Reviews engineering designs for neatness and accuracy. 5.3 Directs engineering personnel in formulating plans, designs, cost estimates, and specifications for oil field construction, maintenance, and modernization programs. 5.4 Supervises engineering office workers computing operating budgets, compiling reports, and conducting special investigations and studies to evaluate efficiency of engineering programs. Is responsible, under the authority of Harrison Motors, to assure the quality of work being done by the workers. Responsible for reporting any and all engineering problems that may occur to upper management. Responsible for knowing and understanding all company rules and guidelines, and making sure workers in the engineering department follow these rules and guidelines. Responsible for making decisions that are not specifically addressed in the rules and guidelines. Must have a strong engineering background and strong managerial experience. Must have theoretical, as well as practical knowledge of all rules, procedures, and guidelines of engineering. Must be able to make managerial decisions, applying all rules described and not described in the company’s rules and guidelines, as applied to the best interest of the company, the management, and the personnel associated with the company. Must be mentally alert and aware of all the rules and guidelines stated by the company. There will be a mandatory drug test, every 60 days, for all employees in order to help to ensure this mental awareness. Must be able to mentally endure 10 to 12 hour shifts outdoors. A fair degree of physical conditioning is required in order to carry a good mental status for a 10 to 12 hour workday. Must be able to lift 80 pounds at least 5 times a day. Must be able to withstand cold or heat throughout the workday. Pants may be made from blue-jean or cotton. If cotton acceptable colors are navy blue, tan, beige, khaki, brown, or black. Shirts must have a collar and a pocket; they may be any color. Shirts may not have any form of vulgarity on them. Hair that hangs below the shoulders must be tied back. The company will provide all tools, computers, and writing utensils. These items, except lap top computers, are to remain on the company premises at all times. Task 5.1: Must be able to delegate work to proper individuals. Each employee has been trained in a special area. Task 5.2: Neatness and accuracy are generic terms for correct. You should be able to point out mistakes in a design and have it corrected. Task 5.4: Special investigations will consist of conducting a survey throughout the rest of the company to see what others think of the engineering department. Only you will see the results of these surveys. This will be conducted every 6 months. Bibliography:
