To access the games you have to go to the web sight www.flasharcade.com. When you go there a whole list of games will come up right on the main page, and all you have to do is point and click on the one that you choose, that is if you have Flash 5. I had Flash 5 so I had no trouble playing any of the games. But if you don’t have it you must go to www.macromedia.com to get it. Alien Defense is the game that was chosen for me. When I went to play the game, I found that it was very confusing and wasn’t clear how to play. After a few times of loosing horribly I seen a little option at the bottom of the page that said “instructions”, I clicked on it and it told me how to play the game. The game is very pointless in my opinion, what you have to do is shoot these little creatures, or spaceships out of the sky, and for each one that you hit you get points. The points differ from 10-50 points depending on what you hit. Needless to say I was horrible at the game, and didn’t like it at all. It seemed like when you hit something it didn’t go away, instead it kept coming at you and than hit the ground destroying your city. The game is very poorly thought out, it has nothing exciting or eye catching. It is supposed to be an action game, and it is very calm and has no sound. And to play the game is very confusing, to move the little catapult around you have to move the mouse pointer and to fire you have to use “a, s, or d”. Thus making it very difficult to hit the moving targets. I guess you could say that it makes it more challenging, but it has to be fun. If I were to redesign the game it would have more flashy graphics and would be played on the keyboard only. The sight itself is really not a good sight, and even though the games are free, there is much room to complain. When I was on the sight, it gave me a chance to look at some of the other games it had to offer, and I must say that almost all of them are not very good. They are so plain and have no excitement to them, and excitement is the key to a good game, in my opinion. There are a lot of different web sights where there are better games such as, www.candystand.com, www.games.com, and a few others that I will go on the computer just to play. With these games on flasharcade.com they are just not fun to play and I defiantly would not go there again. I don’t want to totally tear the web sight apart but it could have been thought out a lot better, and the games could have been a little more appealing. As for the copyrights and such it is very well marked. At the bottom of every game it states the copyrights. It says that any copying or republishing is illegal. The appearance of the sight is the only thing it has going for itself. If I would have just opened up the sight and not played any of the games I would have thought that the games are cool just by the looks of the web sight, but that didn’t appear to be the case. Once I played a game it wasn’t all over yet, I still had hope that it was just my game, but when I got to playing some of the others that is what made my mind up that this really is not a good “games” web sight. In all the sight just wasn’t too good. I didn’t like how, in my opinion the games are not fun, after all isn’t that what games are for. Bibliography: Word Count: 674
