History Repeats Itself Lincoln was elected in 1860--Kennedy was killed in 1960. Both were deeply involved in the civil rights struggles. The names of each contain seven letters and they both lost a son in the war. Both were assassinated on a Friday and both in the presence of their wives. Lincoln was killed in Ford's Theater, Kennedy was in a Lincoln by Ford. The names of both assasins have fifteen letters, John Wilkes Booth shot Lincoln in a theater and then ran to a warehouse while Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy from a warehouse and then ran to a theater. Both assasins were shot before being brought to trial and Lincoln and Kennedy were both succeeded by Southern Democrats named Johnson. Andrew Johnson was born in 1808 and Lyndon B.
