Aprotectionist government is not a restrictive one, but rather a government that protects theinterests of its people as a whole. If there comes a time when protectionist measures arenot beneficial to the American people, then public policy can be changed by the majority’swill. The US must ask itself if free trade policies are in its best interests, or if they are justa popular growing trend in a new age of political correctness.
