the company has put the emplyee in this awkward situation, they should allow the employee time off to have interviews. This will give the person a chance of getting a new job since most businesses hold the same hours during the day. In today's free market economy businesses should have at least a minimal social obligation to it's employees. Whether it be a large company or a smaller one, they should be a strong enough business to cater to the employees limited needs in their time of job loss.
