mr hyde ___ out of 20 points “Story of the Door” In chapter one Mr. Utterson and Mr. Enfield come across a very mysterious cellar door. Three O’clock one night Mr. Enfield comes across a disfigured man who tramples an eight year old girl. Mr. Hyde pays Mr. Enfield and the family of the little girl one hundred pounds 10 gold pounds and the The element used best in this chapter is "...for the man calmly trampled over the child's body and left her screaming on the ground..."(6). This element is used well because Mr. Hyde is an evil man and when this part is read about him trampling over the girl, it makes the reader see him as the antagonist. By doing this in the beginning of the novel it foreshadows the evil crimes that Mr. Hyde commits in the novel and the characteristics of Mr. Hyde. By trampling over the little girl Mr. Hyde obtains a bad reputation and is feared. In the beginning of the novel his actions show that he is the antagonist.
