Brave New World1

body belongs to everybody else( book), there would be a lot less fighting. If technology did not allow for any of the consequences associated with drugs, then what would be so wrong about them? What if you did not have to go through life behaving yourself, because the concept of having to get into heaven simply did not exist. Would it not be nice to not have to deal with all the pain and grieving death brings, to be able to simply accept it and move on? However, the other side might argue that it is unimaginable to go through life where people are created in factories, there are no families, no freedom, morality, spirituality or rights? Many people would argue that these things are not worth sacrificing, for any amount of pleasure. It is hard to even conceive the idea of going through life without ever knowing a mothers love for her children. Some people might argue that life without freedom and love is not really life at all. The prophecies in Brave New World, could be argued as either good or bad, but is there anyway to prevent them?With all of the technological advances occurring in the world today, is there anyway to ensure that the society is safe from ever becoming a Brave New World? Even though it seems far-fetched, it is completely possible that in the future, scientists will be able to make hundreds of humans out of one egg in a test tube. Just a few short years ago, the idea of cloning would have seemed far-fetched. Yet scientists have already cloned a sheep, and a human might not be that far away. The Roslin Institute's Dr. Ian Wilmut, who pioneered the technique that cloned Dolly from a single mammary cell from an adult sheep, said that while human cloning is theoretically possible, he saw no reason to do so(Cnn). With all of these technological advances, it seems as though a brave new world society is just around the corner, but is that what the people really want? Can this society be prevented?
