Dylan Thomas and his works

ut descriptive in horror and suffering toward the redemption of man, after Crucifixion (Magill 54). This poem demonstrated the life and death paradox. It made clear that the person in the poem, resembled Christ who dies, along with humans who will also die. A critic stated that this poem was "absolute poetry," by a pattern of words and images. This certain critic saw Thomas begin his writing toward the economy more (Knepper 2885). Thomas was not successful in this poem because it was too packed and fragmentary. He did not communicate his suffering and hope into the poem (Magill 54). "Over Sir Johns Hill" is another poem that Dylan wrote, but was enjoyed a lot more. To make this poem interesting, he used the technique of allegory. Allegory is when a character acts as more than one thing at a time. He does this by making an actor, act as a bird, who acts like a mortal man, who also acts as a immortal soul. The actor was three parts of three different stories, all in one tale. This poem also illustrates the legal system and religion. The birds and countryside played the role of human behavior. The Hill represented the Judge who sentenced humans to die. The bird was sentenced because it played too many tricks on other birds, in reality, other people. The Hawk acted as the executioner. The Heron in the poem, represented the church which ignored all the chaos around it (Knepper 2886). Thomas poem was then analyzed that the law chooses its own victims. The critics noted that the victims were young and silly, and doomed for death. "God in his whirlwind silence save, who marks the sparrows hail, For their souls song" states that death is the beginning of life and life only repeats itself (Cox 75). Therefore, explaining that there is nothing to look forward to in life. This was a very dark and dreadful poem for Thomas.
