The second metaphor is the fact that incest appears in the story by Nicoles fathertowards her, it is emphasized by the title of the film Daddys Girl. Also, seen in the wayDick Diver was involved with Nicole and Rosemary, two young women who saw Dick asa father figure.The only critic about the novel is why Fitzgerald chooses Rosemary Hoyt to be thefirst character to appear in the story. This led the reader to believe that she will be acentral character, which in fact, she was not.The novel Tender is the Night is well written novel. Fitzgerald used events in hislife to influence his writing, such as in this novel. The characters of Dick Diver and NicoleDiver somehow resemble Fitzgerald and Zelda Sayre. Dick Diver resembles Fitzgerald bybeing young and talented. Nicole Diver resembles Zelda Sayre by both being the forcethat held them back....
