Goal Setting

In the first article that I found It stated that Goal Setting is a formal process for personal planning, and is a form of motivation. It is used for a target that a person worksfor so they can be successful. The process of goal setting is used by many peoplethroughout the world that are trying to and have already achieved something in theirlifetime.Setting goals helps a person remain focused on being successful, stay away fromdistractions, and will help with motivation. There are two types of goal setting:Long-term, and Short-term goals. Short-term goals are smaller goals that are “easier” toachieve, and will keep the person motivated and continue to strive for success. They alsoare goals that lead up to the Long-term goals. The Long-term goals are usually the goalsthat give you a vision of what you are trying to accomplish. These type of goals can also be calledLifetime Goals.When setting goals, one must remember to set clearly defined goals that are notimpossible to achieve. After achieving the goals that you set for yourself, you will start tobecome confident, motivated, and realize your abilities. After realizing your abilities, youmight find yourself setting higher goals that are more difficult for you to accomplish, butwith the confidence you acquired from your previous goals, you are more likely toaccomplish the more difficult goals. This particular article used eight broad guidelines tohelp set effective goals:1- State each goal as a positive statement2- Be precise3- Set priorities4- Write goals down5- Keep operational goals small6- Set performance goals, not outcome goals7- Set realistic goals8- Do not set goals too lowIt is important to enjoy the happiness of accomplishing a goal, so after youachieved a goal that you set for yourself, take the time and enjoy what you accomplished.Also, after achieving a goal, you must look back and ask yourself if the goal was too easyfor you to achieve, if you learned something...
