King Lear6

ryl Strawberry, the rich and famous baseball hero. His sin is plated with anything but gold. But you know what? There might be some bum walking up the block from me right now, selling the same crack cocaine that got Mr. Strawberry in trouble. I wouldn’t know about it, and neither would anybody else (law enforcement officials, for example). No one can see his small vices, despite his “tatter’d clothes.” And why is this? Why has King Lear’s inference of justice reversed itself? Just backtrack a little, and infer. The fact is I know about Darryl Strawberry’s crimes, and not the drug dealer’s around the corner from me thanks to the newspaper. Like I said before, there were no garbage bags or dental floss back when King Lear delivered his speech, and likewise, there was no media. And that, in conclusion, is once again why King Lear’s speech in William Shakespeare play, King Lear, is not exactly wrong in its principles, but outdated by today’s standards nonetheless....
