Scott Fitzgerald, is a classic American novel about an obsessed man named Jay Gatsby who will do anything to be reunited with the love of his life, Daisy Buchanan. The book is told through the point of view of Nick Carraway, Daisy's cousin, who rented a little cottage in West Egg, Long Island across the bay from Daisy's home. Nick was Jay Gatsby's neighbor. Tom Buchanan is Daisy's abusive, rich husband Gatsby himself is a very ostentatious man and carries a rather mysterious aura about himself. The Buchanan’s are both very similar they both are adulterators, violent people, and care very much about money. Jay Gatsby formerly known as James Gatz has accomplished the American Dream, and is in love with Daisy and will do anything for her love, and he also lies and is very corrupted. Nick Carraway is narrator we see everything through his eyes. Nick is a man who does not pass judgment on anyone, lets people do hat they want, and tries very hard not to get sucked in the corrupted society.The Buchanan’s, Tom and Daisy are the same they both have the same problems and come from the same social class. Daisy also has an affair, she has it with Gatsby. From a distance Jay Gatsby appears to be a well-educated man of integrity, in reality he is a corrupt, naive fool.
