asn’t until I was about fourteen or fifteen. I learned to play by watching the pros on television. When I would play tennis, I would mimic the form of the professionals I watched. I watched closely memorizing their footwork and stroke on the ball. As I practiced, using their form to the best of my knowledge worked. My game has improved tremendously by playing against my friends. It’s fun, and I made some of my friends to start liking tennis. Once they started playing, they couldn’t get enough. Now, most of my friends like playing tennis, and I help teach them improving their skills. I tell them how I learned to play and that they should do the same to help themselves. If only I were taught how to play tennis as a kid, I might be playing tennis in college instead of baseball. That will always be a mystery. I still to this day watch and try to learn from the professionals. There is always more to be learned to improve my game. Most of all, tennis gives me a sense of freedom. The game helps me get away from things that are stressing me out or just worrying me. Playing tennis gives me a feeling like I’m zoned out from the world. I’m at peace doing something I love, and nothing else matters for the moment. Also, since I just play with my friends, I don’t feel obligated to win or get mad if I am not doing well. Until you have tried it, do not hate the sport. You might learn to appreciate tennis, even start to play it....
