st and get to know a person before you getinto a relationship. Love is lak de sea. Its a movinthing, but still and all, it takes its shape from deshore it meets and its different with every shore. Janie is saying that love takes a different formdepending on who you are with, each different personrepresenting the shores. This shows Janies growthbecause she says that no matter what you do you have togrow into a love and you can not predict what your nextexperience is going to be or even who it is going to bewith. You can not prejudge love. It just comesnaturally or it does not. You either connect with aperson or you do not. Janie takes each person she is close to and all thesituations her life brings to her forms her own opinionson love. Janie grows from a dreamy child with her fairytale thoughts on love to knowing that you can notpredict what comes in the future. Janie went fromletting everyone in her life telling her what love meansto having a set definition, a personal definition, onwhat love really means to her. Not one person can comeand tell Janie anything different about love. Janiefinally has a mind of her own....
