(2Pac) The moral of the song was that if a person lives that lifestyle the out come could be death.Rap music is a form of poetry and story telling. An article by Errol A. Henderson, describes a rapper as a poet with jagged edges intact...that fully capture the Black ethos of struggle, resistance, righteousness, exploitation, and creativity in Black America.(Henderson) An example is Jay-Z, in the song, This Cant Be Life, I was born in sewageuse the streets as a con do it, I armedsurrounded by thugs, drugs, cops, and court. (Sigel) In that song he told what he grew up around. In the song, Who We Be by DMX, told the truth about what goes on in the urban society. He stated that,They dont know who we be. What they dont know is the bull *censored*, the drama, the guns, the armor, the city, the farmer, the baby, the momma, the projects, the drugs, the children, the thugs, the tears, the hugs, the love, the slugs, the funeral, the wakes, the churches the coffins the heartbroken mothers. It happens too often. The problems, the things we use to solve them. Yonkers, the Brooklyn, Harlem. The hurt, the pain, the dirt, the rainthe jealousy the envythe streets the cops the systemharassments. The opinions, get shot, go to jail, or get your ass kick.
