th of those things. Sometimes Holden cant even keep track of what he likes and dislikes because at one point he says he hates movies than on another he is always going to see them. In addition, Holden says he really hates phonies. Holden can’t even stick to one idea. His definition of a phony is to be something your not. Holden is constantly lying and deceiving people to the point he doesn’t even realize it. Finally, Holden says he doesn’t like people who are annoying and always getting into your business. He does the exact same thing to Luce when he keeps on asking about his sex life and the Chinese girl he is going out with. He feels that if he does it is perfectly fine but he labels others as annoying if the do it to him. This is a direct sign of being self-contradictory and being extremely irrational. In conclusion, Holden is mentally unstable and unsuitable for a normal life because he is suicidal, a liar, and a hypocrite. People who have these tendencies should be taken away from society and be helped to re-enter it after they are capable of leading a normal life. If the people of the human race help each other help themselves they can in turn further the prosperity and happiness of all people on earth.
