Married women who are battered by there husband must have a safe option to leave her husband in a violent relationship. Establishments must be set up to support all women and their after a husbands death, instead of the woman being thrown off the property and left to fend for her children and herself. There has been recent push by lawyers to work for the rights of women in the familly setting. This is one giant leap for womens empowerment in Nigeria. If progress is made which brings about more rights for women in the family setting, this may influence factors relating to womens status in the greater society. Eventually, women of all cultures, classes, ethnicities, and religions in Nigeria may one day view women as equal to men....
