A Well Regulated Militia

y. White tail bucks cost the seasonal hunter $1,500; does are $1000. Exotic animals range in price and may be hunted year round. As a result, they would lose hundreds of thousands dollars a year if guns were to be non-existent. In 1996, 11.3 million people hunted big game such as deer or elk; 6.9 million hunted small game such as rabbits or squirrels; 3.1 million hunted migratory birds such as doves or waterfowl; and 1.5 million hunted other animals such as woodchucks and raccoons. Nearly 77 million Americans 16 years old and older participated in fishing, hunting, and wildlife observation, feeding and photography. This represents 38% of the U.S. population 16 years old and older. They spent over $100 billion on their activities. Hunters spent $5.2 billion for hunting trips, $11.3 billion on equipment, and $4.8 billion for licenses, stamps, tags, and permits, land leasing, and ownership, membership dues, and contributions, and magazines. (Source: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.) Also, the population of game animals would reach great numbers if our right to bear arms was infringed upon. This would cause a shortage in food that would ultimately lead to animals starving to death and an over all decline in the health of those that do live.Our right to keep and bear arms is a privilege and an amendment that I believe should not be infringed upon....
