If large amounts ofcash are found, the police confiscate it on the PRESUMPTION that it is drugmoney -- even if there is no other evidence and no charges are filedagainst the car's occupants. The victims can get their money back only ifthey prove the money was obtained legally. One couple got their money backby proving it was an insurance settlement.
