Sleep This web site deals with the types, cause, and treatment for a sleep disorder called insomnia. It lists three basic types of insomnia which are transient, short term, and chronic. Transient and short term is not that bad and can be easily cured usually without sleeping pills and through relaxation therapy. Chronic Insomnia last for months or longer and is pretty severe, some treatments would be considered as treating ones medical problems, or even taking sleeping pills. Sleeping pills can be dangerous so doctors try not to prescribe them that often. Sleep can affect many people’s lives so hopefully this web site educates people about insomnia. If condition worsens after all the treatments have failed a sleep specialist may be needed. · People with troubled sleeping habits · Some of the major ideas that are presented in this web site are the three types if insomnia, what the causes of those are and how to treat them. · I found the behavioral techniques listed and explained towards the end were interesting. These four techniques are relaxation therapy, sleep restriction, reconditioning, and bright light. · I feel the owner is credible because he states everything and even advises people to seek medical help if condition maintains or worsens. Plus sandman has tons of links and forums dealing with insomnia. · Well in class we haven’t went over insomnia but I suffer from poor sleeping habits and everything in this site pertained to me in some way. · Out of a scale of one to ten, ten being the best I give this site an eight. It provides a decent amount of information related to my topic and different paths of treatment one can take. The only thing I feel could be improved is a little more definition about the three types of insomnia, or maybe just more explanation on them. Bibliography:
