Smoking4
Smoking4 Watching the video in class this evening opened my eyes a little bit more. Having a friend as a social smoker, smoking the "Big Stogies" when he is out with friends. While watching this video I was able to see first hand what smoking can do to your body in the future. Applying it first hand to myself I can see myself what cutting back on smoking every other time can do for you. Seeing the statistics of deaths related to smoking kind of made me realize just how much more people are still smoking today including myself. (1.2 million deaths from Vietnam-1980's and 4.0 million deaths from the 1980's-present.) This statistic was the one that really opened my eyes. Knowing that even from smoking my cigars on the weekends I can be a number added to the 4.0 million people dying from smoking. When I look at my personal situation I know that I can stop my smoking at any period if I wish. Sometimes I'll go a month to month and a half without smoking. Still the one thing that was also pointed out in the video is that to stop smoking it has to come from inside your self. At this point I can stop my smoking being that I am not at an addiction state like the majority of America's smokers. I also do realize that I can join that group someday down the road. To stop smoking I am at the best point to do so without trying to stop myself in the addiction state. So at this point I have to make a decision just like everyone makes day after day. Weather I am going to quit smoking now or take on another challenge of not becoming addicted. Then going through the risks of Heart Disease, Emphysema, or even Mouth Cancer. Bibliography:
