Unhealthy Diets
Unhealthy Diets Unhealthy Diets Some foods are considered unhealthy on grounds of their being high in calories (saturated fats), lack of antioxidants and fibers. Eating very high amounts of saturated fat and cholesterol, and very low amounts of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains increases a person’s risk of getting numerous diseases. Although there is much controversy on the overall effects of fat on health, nearly all experts strongly recommend limiting intake of saturated fats and trans-fatty acids (found in hard margarine, commercial baked goods, and fast foods). Other fatty acids, however, appear to offer benefits. People should try to limit even reduced-fat foods and fat substitutes in their diets.
