In 1770 the British Parliament cut the Townshend Acts back. The boycott of goods by the colonists eventually led to a reduction in British profits. The Parliament withdrew all of the Townshend Act taxes with the exception of the tax on tea. This also led to the end of the Non-Importation agreement among merchants and traders throughout the colonies but it did not end the boycott outright. They still boycotted some goods being imported into the colonies.The Tea Act of 1773 was the act that eventually caused the Boston Tea Party and the Coercive Acts of 1774.
