Lesvos has been a favorite location for artists, writers and romantics. It's natural attractions include a petrified forest, the unique Hot Springs, health inducing spas that are dotted around Lesvos. Many have been in use for thousands of years for rheumatism, arthritis, gynaecological and dermatological ailments,as well as kidney and gallstones, neurological ailments, bronchitis and sciatica. Lesvos' wonderful landscapes can be seen by donkey or horseback, cycling, jeep, or on foot. The numerous festivals held throughout the island of Lesvos, are enjoyed and celebrated in their traditional ways, with the locals displaying their flair for dancing, drinking and eating, hours on end, days on end. We will be staying at the beautiful Blue Sky Hotel which is located in the center of Petra, close to the nightlife, tavernas, cafes and the beach. Next we will be imbarking on a short tour of Skiathos. This is the most popular of the Sporades Islands to the east of Volos and north of Evia. It has much to offer people of all ages and nationalities most of whom find themselves returning year after year. The island is actually the extension of the wooded Mount Pelion anthe scenary reflects this. Skiathos is a green island with forests and abundant water. There are fig, olive, plum, and almond trees as well as grapes. There are over 60 beaches in Skiathos, all sandy including Koukounaries rated 7th best beach in the world and best in Greece. Also Banana Beach just around the headland. This is the island's only Naturist Beach and is fantastic and very sheltered.
