A man thenclaimed that Bavaria should separate from Germany. Hitler immediately stoodup and argued that Germany and Germans must unite to survive. His naturalability to speak impressed the leader of the group.(Granger, p.80) Hitlerjoined the group and quickly became its leader. The name of the groupbecame the Nazis and they quickly began to gain members. He was nowspreading his hate through other people. Hitler also organized a private armycalled the storm troopers who used the swastika as their symbol.(Hoffmann,P.254) On November 8, 1923, Hitler and the Storm Troopers tried to takeover the Bavarian government but they were stopped and Hitler was sent toprison for 5 years.While in prison, he wrote his book called Mein Kampf (My Struggle).The book spoke of how the Aryans must stay pure and not marry Jews orSlavs and other prejudice ideas.
