The Liberator could also land on a very small runway for the actual size of the plane. Germany at one point could have won the war if they had only built themselves a long range bomber that they could have manufactured quickly, but Germany was to caught up with experimenting with jet engines that could travel faster than any other plane in the world. The only problem with this was that those jet planes traveled to fast to get off a clean shot on their target. The Flying Fortress was the most influential plane developed over the course of World War II. It scared the enemy at the sight of a Flying Fortress because when they made their presence known to the enemy they caused severe damage. It was also the most loved plane during the war because it was the plane that dropped the feared atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the war.
