The Choice of A Life Time

Imagine that you are an English citizen sleeping in your cabin, when suddenly your are awaken by a loud knock on the door. You jump out of bed, and run to the door. You look through your peek hole, and see what seems to be a tall, strong soldier. You open the door and what seemed to be a soldier announced him self as a minute man. He asks if you would like to join the rebels. You don't even think twice when you say yes, what with all the things that England has done to the colonies. They put taxes on our tea, sure it is shipped all the way from England but who put us here the king, for what so he can tax us I don't think so. How would you have answered to this stranger, would you have said yes? With out even thinking about it once. I know that you came from England, but that's no reason for England to tax us after all they put the people here in this new strange land. I mean it was hard enough having to come here were there were no civilized people to help us farm. Life is hard enough having to grow your own food, hunt and build new houses. We even have to live next to the Native Americans who might fight us at any time.I would have become a rebel because of all the hard times the colonies had and now they even had to fight for their freedom. I think it was unfair and if I were asked the same question I would have answered yes!!! An I also think that since the king has never seen this land he has no right to rule over it. I hope you enjoyed your journey back into the colonial times, and keep thinking about my question!!! ...
