If you have ever read the book,and anytime after that you hear the name of the book, you would automaticallythink of three people: Tom Joad, Ma Joad, and Jim Casy because they leavesuch an impact on you. But on more realistic terms, I think the only person whois really not spoke a lot about, but is still remembered today, is the presidentsduring the era which this story occurred: Herbert C. Hoover, and Franklin D.Roosevelt. Both these presidents were known because each one is responsiblefor creating a part of history in this country. Both presidents tried to make thingsbetter for the people and in doing so were either commended or criticized byothers. This event just gradually became resolved on its own in due time. Ofcoarse, when a couple years later after the books time, the American joining ofthe war kind of helped ease off the pains of the Great Depression. The fact thatthey needed armed forces opened up more jobs for American people, thuspulling most of them out of complete poverty to fight in the war. Though in thebook’s time, it doesn’t get to this part yet. The depression is not yet fully resolvedbut it is in part the main event and cause in the story. It might have been resolved by having the government help with morefunding for the people. Or maybe it would have gone unresolved until somethingbig, like a war in this case, came along and created more jobs. Something likethe Great Depression has unpredictable resolutions. It was something that wastried so hard to get rid of but when it was rid, it just happened on it own. Anotherway could be that the government should have lowed taxes more or thegovernment should have helped out the banks more so people wouldn’t havebecome so broke because they would have had the banks help, people like theJoads in this case. I would have chosen that the federal government should have helped outthe people ...
