vidualism so much better, there are still strong threats towards it. The government is still the major facilitator of social justice that has led to increased responsibility for and regulation of the lives of citizens, particularly in such fields as the welfare state and taxation. The globalization of economics and the development of global corporations have reduced the importance of the individual. But in the sphere of the Western Civilization and countries influenced by it, societies are tending to become more alike through the influence of the mass media and the pressures of education, employment and the role of the state. I believe that it is a good thing the way that individualism has gone, more freedom then we used to have in the 16th century. But even though we pay taxes to the government, it doesn’t hurt our individualism, those taxes are there so we all pay for our roads and many other things. I don’t believe that socialism is good because they infringe upon people’s rights, but that is because I grew up in democratic country, if I had grown up in socialist country, I would more than likely think the other way. But either way I think individualism has gone a long way....
