They later metup with their tribe in the Sierra de Antunez Mountains. United States soldiers trailed them and theyhad fights with them almost every day. Eventually the Apache made a treaty with the Mexicansagreeing they wouldn’t fight anymore and the Indians would return to the United States. Theyhoped to make a treaty with the United States as well. General Miles told him he was sent by the Presidentof the United States to speak with him and would like peace between Geronimo and the whitemen.
