This disease can be spread by mosquitoes and can pass through the air. Yellow fever has an incubation period of 3-6 days. There is no Yellow fever in the United States currently and can only be found in tropical and sub tropic areas of the world. There is no treatment but vaccines exist and are successful. Yellow Fever had a devastating effect on the city of Philadelphia killing 4041 people almost one out of every ten died. There were unproven treatments that ranged from vinegar baths to ingesting mercury . Many higher-class people that survived the epidemic did so by fleeing the city. These people included lawyers, merchants and doctors. The two politicians did not personally attack each other’s faults and ideas as they do in present day, however supporters of the candidate did say negative things about the opposition in hopes of gaining more support for their candidate. These practices have grown greatly over the years and today negative ads are as much a part of an election as the way a candidate stands on an issue. Works cited1.
