If marijuana were to become legalized, it would just present a greater incentive for the children to become more involved in the usage of marijuana. If society cared anything about its youth, legalization of such a drug would not even be an issue. It is the responsibility of society to set standards, morals, and guidelines for today's youth. However, with the many campaigns that have been initiated, marijuana is only becoming more accessible to a young population who will in turn be greatly affected by such drug use. (6) Legalizing marijuana in no such manner accomplishes any of those responsibilities. Society should present a positive guide for the younger generation, and decline the legalization of marijuana.Society is trying to promote a drug-free nation. Yet, how can one accomplish such a task if marijuana is being considered asa potential legal drug? Although marijuana may serve as a mild pain killer, or pose as some other remedy, its negative side effects greatly outweigh the positive.
