People from different generations, are interested in buying different products. For example, people from our own generation find it important to keep up with the latest technologies. However, a person who grew up during the Great Depression, who lived most of their life without these technologies, will not view technology as a necessity. With this information, those that market technology will know that the younger generation will be their target market group. Once they know their target market group, effective marketing can begin. For example, they would know to use younger actors (in commercials), mass email, advertise on radio stations with a younger listening age group, etc.). We agree that this is an excellent method for determining how to market products, because this tactic allows the company to ensure that they are giving the consumer what they want and need. Once they have given the consumer what they want, it enhances the chances of the product being purchased, thus accomplishing the company*s main goal * to sell. Any strategy that increases sales is definitely an important contribution to a company*s success.. ...
