A Moment of Shock

hat Shazias mom had expired, I just stood there shocked for a long time thinking about the past and about Shazias future. Shazia who was really close to her mom, who had relied on her mom for every little thing in life had to live without her mom and give three more children a mothers love was really a very horrible thought. Immediately as most people do at first I started blaming God thinking he should not have taken Shazias mom away; Shazia really needed her and could hardly live without her. But then I realized that this is part of reality and we all eventually have to face reality some time in our lives, though some people face it in a very cruel way than others. This was exactly what I told Shazia when she got back but I knew that no words in the whole world could really cover up the sorrow that she felt about losing her mom, the only person who had really cared for her.Shazia had brought the baby with her and when she got back from California and started taking care of the infant along with her brother and sister, she knew she had to be strong for them. A few weeks later Shazias aunt and uncle moved here from India to live with them and help them out, but Shazia could hardly get along with them because of the culture difference; but still she lived with them so somebody could take care of her brother and sisters. Even though it has been 3 years after her moms death and we are still close friends; I have never seen Shazia as the same girl she was before her mom left for California. But, even I have changed a lot after seeing her go through everything and trying unsuccessfully to get her out of the depression which she slips into sometimes. She does not feel safe about anything or anybody and when if someone is going out somewhere she often finds herself wondering if they will return home or not....
