way. Teachers must be aware of student differences and persist on finding the best way to teach each individual. By forging partnerships with other educators we widen the range of abilities and ideas, and can therefore construct more diverse methods for teaching. If teachers are aware of the differences among their students and intentionally approach subjects in a number of ways, then students with different types of intelligences may begin to emerge and reach their full potential. Intelligence theory and test have made unprecedented strides in the last century. Due to the enormous amount of research concerning the subject, psychologists and educators have a much better understanding of how intelligence is constructed and related to learning. This new understanding has led to improved ways of assessing and treating students with learning disabilities. Clearly the old approach to intelligence with emphasis being place on prediction of success in school does little to provide a student with appropriate learning opportunities which are required by state mandates. The old approach also offers no strategy for improving instruction. In the future educators and psychologist should take a multidimensional approach to education. This will allow teachers to understand their students strengths and weakness empowering them to teach more effectively. Teachers may even decide to take a multiple theory approach being this will provide them with more information about their students ability profile.
