Pro-choice or Pro- life which do her choose ? Pro- choice advocates believe that it is up to the woman to murder her child or not. Pro- life advocates believe that if her get pregnant her are obligated, as a child bearing person, to have that child. Adolescent abortion, and the ruling to legalize abortion are two concerns of this situation.Adolescence is a time to be remembered. In these changing times adolescence is a time of pain and hardships. In addition to general public interest in issues related to adolescent abortion, psychologists have a special interest in the problem for several reasons. First, the Supreme court has emphasized psychological factors in deciding cases on abortion by minors. Psychologists can assist courts and legislatures in evaluating the validity of psychological assumptions to determine whether any compelling basis exists for age-based regulation of womens access to abortion. Similarly, psychologists can evaluate procedures to ensure that these procedures enhance support for pregnant adolescents and do not add undue stress or create unintended negative effects. Second, as clinicians or counselors in schools, mental health centers, and health care settings, psychologists often assist adolescent clients or other health professionals in making decisions about abortion. Few situations raise as many complex ethical problems for psychologists who seek to provide the scientific basis for practice through study of pregnant adolescents decision or the effects of their decisions. Third, psychologists are dedicated to ensuring that adolescents and families faced with difficult decisions have access to services that will assist them in understanding the alternatives and dealing with their consequences.
