During the course of pregnancy, a woman has many choices as to what she may do with her child. However, many mothers choose to have a baby and then put him/her up for adoption. This is not the only choice; one choice is abortion. Abortion has both positive and negative consequences.The Catholic church teaches that once conception has taken place, no measures should be taken to intentionally abort the baby. Many people agrre with this philosophy and therfore choose to keep their baby. this decision results in a beautiful, new life and much happiness. This decision, however, can also cause many problems, especially with young, unwed mothers. Many teens struggle to keep a job and earn money while still earning a high school diploma. Having to raise a child prematurely takes a teen and places her in an adult world. Therefore, a teen girl who becomes pregnant may find hrrself in turmoil, having to make a decision of whether or not to keep her baby.A woman who is pregnant, who does not want to keep or abort her baby, still has options. This is to put the baby up for adoption. This, too, will result in a beautiful, new life, and at the same time, allow the mother to move on. The teen mother will be able to back to her normal life and the baby will have suitable parents. However, this could cause great menatl strain on the teen, knowing that she has a child but can not care for him/her.However, there is only one choice left for the mother.The final choice is abortion. Although strongly opposed by many, abortion also has positive results. Abortion has the ability to prevent problems from occurring, especially problems with teen age mothers. However, abortion causes much physical and mental stress. The process of aborting a fetus, no matter how it is carried out, is very gruesome.
