Now that the media is more aware that airbags can be dangerous, safety precautions are being taken more seriously. But still, an airbag would most often save a life rather than take one (Doherty).To decrease the chances of being hurt by an airbag you can do a few things. Parents should not allow children to ride in the front seat of cars. If a young child must be in the front seat have them in a safety seat facing backwards. Adults should be in a position so that the air bag is not aiming towards their face. This is done by tilting the steering wheel. And lastly always wear your seat belt. It keeps you in a proper position so that when an airbag hits it less of a danger (Safety). For me, this topic was interesting to research. I was able to learn how to keep an airbag from being a danger and some interesting facts about how an airbag works. I also learned that you have to be smart to keep yourself from being injured if you are ever in a car crash when an airbag is needed. Many people do not know that airbags can be such a danger. They sit incorrectly and think wearing a seatbelt is not necessary. Everything has to be a certain way just so you can look cool when you are driving down the street. Well if an airbag were to go off these people would be lucky if they got to live to analyze their mistakes. This information will also allow people to know what is coming up in the world of airbags and what they can get for their cars to keep them safer. Even thought airbags are there to save lives, there is still a potential danger that comes with them. If the proper steps are taken and everything possible is done to keep a person in the correct area for a deploying airbag, they could save a life....
