Alternative food Source in he 21st century
Alternative food Source in he 21st century The Alternative Food Source for the 21st Century! It's taken for granted that dogs are man's best friend. But what would a puppy taste like in a nice teriyaki sauce with a side of mushrooms. Would a collie taste better than a nice strip loin steak? Or would you rather substitute your hot dog at the ballpark for a real dog, maybe a terrier? Dogs can be both tasty and nutritious and are the new wave of edible animal in the 21st century. Crazy you say? Ludicrous you yell? Inhumane you complain? Nonsense. It's just common sense to look towards dogs as the new food source alternative for the 20th century. The world is changing in the new millennium. The scarcity of natural resources makes it imperative for us to look for new alternatives to the status quo. Now many of you are probably close to losing your breakfast and/or lunch at this moment, but bear with me while I explain why dogs are the perfect substitute for the types of meat that we already eat. Do you remember the last time you were at McDonalds and chewing on your hamburger? Did you stop to think what your burger was made out of. It was beef, or maybe quasi beef byproduct, but that's not the point. In recent years the beef industry has been rocked by a terrible plague known as mad cow disease. Cows all over England were infested with the disease and the slaughter of millions of cows soon followed. How did the cow contract this disease? The common opinion was that the cow was forced to live in inhumane and filthy conditions. The problem is the fact that at any time cows all around the world could be infected with this disease and we would be left without any beef and the world economy would crumble under the pressure this epidemic creates. These are terrible consequences for our reliance on beef. ++++ Dogs on the other hand, don't have these problems. Dogs live in houses. Some live in dog houses. Nonetheless they live in rather clean and humane conditions and are less likely to contract diseases such as mad cow disease. Have you ever heard of mad puppy disease? Well maybe you've gotten strange reactions from your puppy whenever you play your Mariah Carey (insert your own singer here) CD, but that is hardly a disease. The cleanliness of dogs is a clear advantage of the dog as a new food source alternative. Ever had the craving for a lamb chop? If you have then maybe you'd like to know where that lamb chop came from. It most likely came from New Zealand. There are 80 million sheep in New Zealand and about 8 million people. Beside than that obvious fear of the sheep forming a giant super army and taking over the country, sheep need to graze and New Zealand uses almost all of its farm land for sheep to graze and that's a problem. Most of the time the land that has been used for grazing can't be used for years and years because of the sheep. Could that farm land be better used to grow vegetables, fruits and other plants to feed the world? Most definitely. And dogs don't graze. Just put a little Puppy Chow in their bowls and they're as happy as clams. Dogs would lessen the burden on agricultural land all over the world. This is just another reason why dogs as food would benefit all of mankind. In North America we have the wild and crazy idea that dogs are pets. Another misconception. We give dogs human emotions and feelings and treat them as part of the family. Why? Cause they pretend like they understand what we're saying. This is not true. Dogs only respond to two things. Bacon and more bacon. And who says that sheep can't be good pets? Scotsmen (or shepherds) all over the world have found sheep to be both warm and loving companions. If you know what I mean. Having a pet sheep would make a lot more sense than having a pet dog. One, you could use the wool it produces for making clothing. I don't see any of you today wearing dog fur. And if any of you are, just keep it to yourselves. Some would say dogs are good for protection to the family and we need them for that instead of using them as food. Well have you ever seen a sheep in a fight? Let me tell you, you don't want to mess with one. There's nothing scarier than a sheep with a crazy look in its eyes. In some Asian countries, dogs are eaten as food and it is a common occurrence. We think those people weird and strange and backwards. But maybe they have the right idea. I mean, they're already ahead of us in math and science and make the best televisions, maybe they do have ALL the answers. I hope the next time you cut into a steak or eat a hot dog, I hope you'll reconsider what you're eating and what a awful burden you're placing on the world resources. Instead, put down your T-Bone and pick up an Schnauzer. A little BBQ sauce and you have a feast fit for a king. Or at least a migrant farm worker. By the way, yes I know, I didn't mention chicken. Well chickens are a cheap food source that can be mass produced and are quite similar to dogs in that regard.. I accept that. But there's nothing wrong with eating dogs as well. And you know what they say. Everything tastes like chicken anyhow. Bibliography: n/a
