Seriously wounded, Warhol struggled for his life, but made a gradual recovery.Valerie Solanas, who had appeared in the Warhol movie "I, a Man", shot Andy, because she felt he ignored her. She turned herself in the same night and spent 3 years in prison.In 1977 the Museum of American Folk Art in New York showed an exhibition of Warhol's private collection of American folk art under the title Andy Warhol's Folk and Funk.
