This ignition system produces around 40,000 volts to the sparkplug making the spark stronger and burning the gas better.In the 1950's seatbelts were not mandatory and lets forget about airbags. The only protection one had in a crash was the steel body around him. As time wore on there was a law passed that made seatbelts and airbags mandatory on all new vehicles. To also improve the safety of the car manufactures made the chasse stronger and the bumbers more resistant. Some vehicles now even come with built in baby chairs to maximize safety.The automobile of 2000 has changes drastically in the last 50 years. Todays automobile is lighter in weight and smaller in size due to the prices and the needs of todays automobile driver. The car now has many things to make it safer, cheaper to operate, and nicer to drive. Compared to the cars of the 50's, todays cars are marvels....
