Chernobyl

of an effect on us or they would not be considered accidents. Many argue that accidents happen, well when accidents happen that take thousands of lives and continue to take lives, we usually do something about them. It is very hard to prevent accidents. My suggestion is to find a different source of energy and abolish nuclear energy. Is nuclear energy the only source of energy we have to rely on for future generations? Many say yes, but there is evidence that there are better cleaner ways to get energy rather than nuclear power. There are many sources of renewable, cleaner energy than nuclear power. Some of these, for example, would be bioenergy, geothermal, hydrogen, hydropower, ocean, solar and wind. These sources of energy are renewable and a lot cleaner that nuclear energy. Why do we not use these, many ask. It is because they are expensive and there has not been much research in these areas because we have not needed them. We are now beginning to need them and more research is going into them. Just as we researched nuclear energy and made it useable, we can do the same with all of these renewable sources. It will just take time and money, we may not have to worry about it but future generations will. What I see is one harmful source of energy and seven safe sources of cleaner energy. Nuclear energy is not worth the risk that it places on our society and our world as an environment. We do not have a way to dispose of this energys waste, we do not know of any clean way to store this waste; we are relying on someone else to fix the problems we are creating. The health affects of radiation created by this source of energy are deadly. Thousands have died from radiation effects, causing cancer and many other health problems. Accidents at nuclear power plants are still happening and they do affect people. There are also many other sources of cleaner energy that we could use with sufficient research. Nuclear energy should not be use...
