rtle. Everyday Cubans get fed up with Castro, and it takes one voice like Mack of the turtle to fight Castro. Mack lets out a “burp” and Yertle’s reign of everything he sees is over. Riots of Cubans break out fighting Castro’s overpowering policies. The Cubans have no rights. Cubans try and flee Cuba all the time. Many Cubans die attempting to be free. One outburst in Havana due to the result of frustration, hunger, electrical blackouts poor transportation, and unemployment, Castro was faced with a hold on his power(Encarta).Yertle was trying so hard to be highest king of them all. There was a problem in his mission. He wanted to be higher than the moon. The moon is so high it looks over the turtles like G-d looks over his people. In a country like Cuba, Castro acts like their god and controls everything. Can Castro be any higher? In the world where people are most important, it does not seem that way. The people of Cuba and the fellow turtles of Yertle’s reign are facing cruelty. Castro and Yertle alike, do not care about the people’s needs. They let the people suffer with hunger and pain. As the turtles of Sala-ma-Sond are free at the end of the story, Cubans await there freedom by waiting for Castro’s death....
