rning point in the story exposes the insanity that only seclusion can wreak upon a human soul. The Creature does everything in his power to discover someone with whom he can connect and confide in. Unfortunately, all his efforts are in vain as he is continually rejected and placed in the role of an outcast, an almost undeniable link to his creator. An extremely powerful display of his demonization occurs during his first and last face-to-face encounter with the DeLacey family, during which he is cast away with scorn and disgust. It is at this point that his suffering reaches its first peak and he neglects all compassion and responsibilities in pursuit of a revengeful goal. His payback is directed to his creator, who once spoke the words, “Begone! Relieve me from the sights of your detested form.”(p.85). The Creature’s distraught conscience and loss of hope, combined “with a figure hideously deformed and loathsome;”(p.105) starts off on a rampage intent of destroying Victor. His impulsive actions do not appease his desires or prevent anyone from consistently exiling him. All that he pursued is no closer, and his conduct offers him no gratification, comfort, or retribution from his miserable life.The Creature’s desperate attempts at any type of interaction are repeatedly mutilated. The final straw of his sanity, after the DeLacey incident, occurs when his remaining hope is hurled away. Leaving the scene of destruction at the house he had grown to love, the unjustly afflicted monster makes his way through the beauty of nature. When the past events had begun to fade and he was at last feeling at peace with himself, the Creature encounters a girl in the very process of losing her life to the selfish waters of a brook. He saves her from harm and delivers her to the shore where he is verbally attacked by her quite worthless guardian. As he attempts to flee, he is shot in the chest and when he e...
